Lore[edit | edit source]

While mostly upbeat and content, Lee Chi wasn't always this way.

Many years past,  Lee Chi's son, a young a spriteful boy, became severely ill. His passing was inevitable.

Even through his illness, Lee Chi's son managed to showcase a liveliness unmatched by those who surrounded him. It seemed, regardless of his fate, that Lee Chi's son was more willing to bring life to the world than those meandering about without consequence.

And then, it happened. The passing took place. The rituals were executed. The sadness took hold. Lee Chi's son now lay peacefully in the sacred bamboo forest. Lee Chi, on the other hand, did not handle this well and relocated to the Kor'al ocean side in order to gather himself.

It took quite awhile, but after a year of grieving, Lee Chi finally mustered the strength to visit his son's grave again.

Upon arriving at the resting place, a peculiar sight caught Lee Chi by surprise. This sign, so simple and incredibly profound, instigated an immediate and irreversible switch in mood for Lee Chi.

What a sight! A tiny sapling inching out of the soil where his son lay. To see life reborn out of death was an intense moment for Lee Chi. Overwhelmed, he began to cry -- vowing to carry on his son's memory.

Following this event, Lee Chi became an expert gardener. His planting skills were unmatched. He challenged himself to carry on his son's desire to bring life to the world.

Some people think he is a bit too happy now -- a way of coping. But he rather be. It's what his son would want.

And that sapling? Well, Lee Chi now carries it on his shoulders.
